Makkah: Saudi Arabia has announced a major facilitation for international Umrah pilgrims by introducing a one-year multiple-entry Umrah visa, allowing eligible visitors to perform Umrah multiple times within a single year without applying for a new visa for each journey.
According to the latest travel policy, the newly introduced visa will remain valid for 365 days from the date of issuance, enabling pilgrims to enter and exit Saudi Arabia multiple times throughout the year. Under the new regulations, travelers will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom for a combined maximum of 90 days during the visa’s validity.
Saudi authorities said the initiative is aimed at making religious travel more convenient while supporting the Kingdom’s broader efforts to enhance pilgrimage services and improve the experience of millions of Muslims visiting the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.
Officials clarified that despite the flexibility offered by the new visa, it cannot be used to enter Saudi Arabia during the annual Hajj season. Pilgrims intending to perform Hajj must continue to obtain the designated Hajj visa in accordance with existing regulations.
The introduction of the annual multiple-entry Umrah visa is expected to significantly benefit frequent travelers, overseas Muslims, and families wishing to perform Umrah more than once a year. The move is also anticipated to boost religious tourism as part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to expand services under its long-term tourism and pilgrimage development strategy.
