MUSCAT, Oman, Representatives of Yemen’s Houthi movement (Ansar Allah) and a Saudi delegation have held talks in Oman amid heightened regional tensions, signaling renewed efforts to advance dialogue and reduce instability in the region.
According to sources within the Houthi movement, Mohammed Abdulsalam, spokesperson for the group’s political bureau, met with Saudi officials in Muscat, where both sides discussed recent regional developments and prospects for improving security and stability.
The meeting comes shortly after the Houthis claimed responsibility for attacks targeting Saudi Aramco facilities in the cities of Jizan and Yanbu, underscoring growing security concerns across the Gulf region.
According to Qatari television, UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg and Omani officials have urged both parties to restart negotiations and continue diplomatic engagement aimed at ending years of conflict.
Reports indicate that officials from the United Nations, Saudi Arabia, and Ansar Allah are currently in Oman, where preparations are reportedly underway for a possible second round of peace negotiations.
