JERUSALEM, The Board of Peace’s senior representative for Gaza, Nickolay Mladenov, has welcomed the Israeli cabinet’s decision to approve the limited deployment of an International Stabilization Force into the Gaza Strip, describing it as a significant step toward implementing an internationally backed framework for the territory.
In a statement posted on X, Mladenov said the decision would facilitate the deployment of the International Stabilization Force in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2803, calling it a key component of efforts to stabilize Gaza, support demilitarization, and prepare for a transitional Palestinian administration under the New Civil Administration for Gaza (NCAG).
“I welcome steps by Israel that enable the deployment of the International Stabilization Force in Gaza,” Mladenov said, adding that the move is essential for advancing the agreed roadmap aimed at restoring governance and security in the enclave.
He stressed that the immediate priority is to advance the implementation of the 20-point Gaza Plan, including the roadmap developed by international mediators to support long-term stability and reconstruction.
The development comes as diplomatic efforts continue to secure broader implementation of the plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, which envisions the disarmament of armed groups, the establishment of a transitional governing framework, and the gradual reconstruction of Gaza.

According to reports, Hamas has so far rejected calls to disarm under the proposed framework, while negotiations have continued over several unresolved aspects of the plan, including Israel’s approval of key implementation measures.
The Board of Peace has been working with regional and international stakeholders to advance the stabilization initiative, which aims to improve security conditions, facilitate humanitarian assistance, and lay the foundation for long-term political and administrative reforms in Gaza.
