WASHINGTON, U.S. President Donald Trump has rejected reports suggesting the United States is running low on military munitions during its conflict with Iran, while simultaneously escalating tensions by sharing a series of provocative social media posts that appeared to threaten Iran’s strategic energy infrastructure.
Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, Trump dismissed speculation about U.S. weapons stockpiles, insisting that American forces remain fully equipped.
“We have far more munitions than anyone in the world, and far more than we need,” Trump said.
Shortly afterward, the president posted several AI-generated images on his Truth Social platform portraying attacks on Iranian targets.
One of the images depicted warplanes striking Iran’s Kharg Island, the country’s primary crude oil export terminal, under the caption “STRIKE ON KHARG.” Kharg Island is considered one of the most strategically important components of Iran’s energy sector.
Trump also shared multiple AI-generated images carrying the caption “It’s Our Oil Tanker now!” The images portrayed him holding an American flag aboard what appeared to be an Iranian vessel. Some versions included U.S. soldiers, while another appeared to depict Iranian religious leaders.

In another post, captioned “NO MORE ENGINES,” an Iranian ship was shown exploding in an apparent symbolic display of military action.
The posts came amid continued tensions between Washington and Tehran, although there has been no official indication that the United States has carried out strikes on Kharg Island or seized Iranian vessels as depicted in the AI-generated images.
The White House has not issued additional comments explaining the purpose of the posts, while Iranian officials had not immediately responded to the latest online messages.
