RIYADH, Saudi Arabia has formally appointed Major General (Retd.) Dr. Rajih Al-Baqmi as its new Ambassador to Pakistan after he took the oath of office before Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
Dr. Rajih Al-Baqmi will replace outgoing Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, who has served as Saudi Arabia’s envoy in Islamabad.
The oath-taking ceremony also included several newly appointed Saudi ambassadors designated to friendly and partner countries, reaffirming the Kingdom’s ongoing diplomatic engagements across the region and beyond.
Al-Baqmi, a senior diplomat and retired major general, is expected to lead Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic mission in Pakistan and further strengthen the longstanding strategic partnership between the two brotherly nations.
Saudi Arabia and Pakistan maintain close cooperation in political, economic, defense and cultural fields, with both countries enjoying decades of strong bilateral relations and regular high-level exchanges.
