Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif meets Kuwaiti Foreign Minister, strongly condemns attacks on Gulf countries

ISLAMABAD, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the recent attacks on Kuwait and other Gulf countries, reaffirming that Pakistan remains committed to promoting peace in the region as an honest mediator and facilitator.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the prime minister made these remarks during a meeting with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who is on an official visit to Pakistan.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, federal ministers for defense, commerce, national food security, communications, maritime affairs, petroleum, the prime minister’s advisers, and other senior government officials.

Prime Minister Shehbaz welcomed the Kuwaiti foreign minister and conveyed his best wishes to Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.

Highlighting the longstanding brotherly ties between Pakistan and Kuwait, the prime minister said the relationship is built on shared values, mutual trust, and unwavering support during both challenging and prosperous times.

Discussing the regional security situation, Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s full solidarity with the leadership and people of Kuwait and strongly condemned the attacks targeting Kuwait and other friendly Gulf nations during the ongoing regional crisis.

He emphasized that Pakistan continues to play the role of a sincere mediator and facilitator to help restore peace and stability in the region, thanking the Kuwaiti leadership for supporting Islamabad’s diplomatic efforts.

On bilateral relations, the prime minister expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum in Pakistan-Kuwait ties and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation in trade, investment, energy, agriculture, information technology, maritime affairs, and workforce development.

Shehbaz Sharif also appreciated the Kuwaiti government for hosting the Pakistani community and praised the valuable contribution of Pakistani expatriates to Kuwait’s social and economic development.

Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah conveyed the good wishes of Kuwait’s leadership to the prime minister and reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening cooperation across all areas of mutual interest.

He also praised Pakistan’s efforts, particularly those of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, in promoting dialogue, diplomacy, and regional peace during the current crisis.

The Kuwaiti foreign minister thanked the government and people of Pakistan for their solidarity and steadfast support during the ongoing regional tensions.

Both sides agreed to maintain close consultations and continuous high-level engagement on issues of mutual interest, while also agreeing to exchange senior-level delegations in the near future to advance bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif renewed his invitation to the Crown Prince of Kuwait to undertake an official visit to Pakistan.
