BUCHAREST, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Romania, Ilyas Nizami, visited the “Justinian Patriarch” Faculty of Orthodox Theology at the University of Bucharest, where he met with Rev. Dr. Valentin Ilie, Director of the Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Studies and Dialogue.
The meeting provided an opportunity for an in-depth exchange of views on promoting interfaith dialogue, mutual understanding, and cooperation among diverse religious and cultural communities.
During the discussions, Ambassador Nizami reaffirmed the Government of Pakistan’s commitment to protecting the rights of religious minorities and promoting peaceful and harmonious relations among different faith communities.
As a gesture of goodwill, the ambassador presented Rev. Dr. Valentin Ilie with a book showcasing the rich heritage and architectural beauty of churches in Pakistan, highlighting the country’s diverse religious and cultural legacy.
Ambassador Nizami also expressed Pakistan’s interest in strengthening institutional cooperation between the Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Studies and Dialogue at the University of Bucharest and relevant academic and research institutions in Pakistan.
