GAZA, Senior Hamas officials have claimed that an agreement has been reached to end the Gaza conflict, stating that a newly established National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) will supervise the inventory and storage of the group’s weapons as part of the implementation process.

The comments came after US President Donald Trump announced that Hamas had agreed to a plan for the complete disarmament of armed groups in Gaza. However, Israeli officials have previously indicated that significant differences remain regarding the proposed framework.

Hamas Details Agreement

Speaking anonymously to AFP, two senior Hamas officials said the agreement covers both the future handling of weapons and a phased withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip.

One official said the agreement includes arrangements concerning Hamas’s weapons as well as a gradual Israeli military withdrawal.

According to the officials, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) expects international mediators and the Peace Board to ensure Israel fulfills its obligations under the agreement.

Technocratic Committee to Supervise Weapons

A senior Hamas official said the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG)—a technocratic body established under the proposed peace framework—will be responsible for overseeing the inventory, storage, and management of weapons according to an agreed implementation timetable.

The official added that the committee would become the only authorized institution responsible for maintaining, storing, or controlling weapons inside the Gaza Strip.

Implementation Still Uncertain

Despite Hamas’s announcement, the implementation of any agreement remains uncertain.

Israeli officials have previously stated that the reported proposal does not fully satisfy Israel’s demand for Gaza’s complete demilitarization, suggesting further negotiations may be required before the agreement can take effect.

Neither Israeli authorities nor the mediating countries have publicly confirmed Hamas’s latest description of the agreement.
