ISLAMABAD — President Asif Ali Zardari has conferred the Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) on Commander National Strategic Command General Syed Aamer Raza in recognition of his outstanding services to Pakistan’s defense and national security.
President Zardari presented the country’s prestigious military honor during a special investiture ceremony at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday.
The award recognizes General Aamer Raza’s exceptional professional capabilities, valuable services and contributions to Pakistan’s defense and security.
Top Civil and Military Leadership Attends Ceremony
According to a statement from the President’s Press Wing, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended the ceremony.
Other senior officials included Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu also attended the event.
Members of the federal cabinet, parliamentarians and representatives of the diplomatic community were also present.
The gathering brought together Pakistan’s senior civilian and military leadership to honor the strategic commander.
General Aamer Raza Holds Meeting With President
After the ceremony, General Syed Aamer Raza met President Zardari at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The president congratulated the general on receiving the prestigious award.
President Zardari also conveyed his best wishes to General Aamer Raza for his future responsibilities.
