Tehran: Iran has described Pakistan as a “great asset of the Muslim world” and expressed its desire to further strengthen bilateral relations, security cooperation and strategic ties with Islamabad.
Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei made the remarks during a meeting with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Tehran.
Iran Calls Pakistan a Strategic Partner
Rezaei said Iran and Pakistan are strategic partners and expressed Tehran’s readiness to take bilateral cooperation to new heights.
He praised the Pakistani government, military and people, describing them as a “great asset of the Muslim world.”
The Iranian official also stressed the importance of stronger security cooperation between the two neighboring countries.

Mohsin Naqvi Meets Iranian President
Earlier, Naqvi met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran.
According to sources, the Pakistani interior minister conveyed special messages from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir to the Iranian president.
Naqvi also briefed President Pezeshkian on the recently concluded Makkah Joint Defense Agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
Iran Wants Deeper Cooperation with Pakistan
Following his meeting with Naqvi, President Pezeshkian said Iran was ready to deepen ties with Pakistan in several areas.
These include political, economic, trade, cultural and security cooperation.

Pezeshkian said Iran highly values the interest shown by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other Pakistani officials in strengthening relations with Tehran.
He added that Iran considers closer relations with Pakistan important for both countries.
