Israeli Airstrike in Southern Lebanon Kills Seven, Injures Three

An Israeli airstrike on the town of Ansar in southern Lebanon has killed seven people and injured three others, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency.

Lebanon’s official media reported that Israeli aircraft carried out the attack early Saturday. The strike hit an area near Ansar in the Nabatieh district.

Airstrikes Hit Ansar Area

According to the National News Agency, Israeli aircraft carried out three strikes around Ansar and Nabatieh al-Fawqa.

One strike hit a house near the outskirts of Ansar early in the morning. The attack completely destroyed the building and injured three people.

Meanwhile, rescue teams continued searching the rubble for people who may remain trapped.

Authorities took the dead and injured to hospitals in Nabatieh for treatment and further procedures.

Deadly Attack Since Ceasefire

Lebanese state media described the attack as one of the deadliest strikes since a temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah took effect on June 20.

The latest attack has added to concerns over continued violence in southern Lebanon.

However, the report did not provide further details about the circumstances of the attack or the identities of those killed.
