ISLAMABAD: Imam of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, held a telephone conversation with Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman and Secretary-General of the International Council for the Honour of the Two Holy Mosques, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi.
The two leaders discussed the current situation in the Muslim world and several issues of mutual interest.
They also discussed the recent defence agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye.
Al-Sudais Welcomes Defence Agreement
According to a statement issued in Pakistan, Sheikh Al-Sudais described the agreement as a source of الخير, security and unity for the Muslim Ummah.
He said the pact could benefit Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye in particular.

Al-Sudais also congratulated Tahir Ashrafi on his nomination by the Government of Pakistan for the Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
He praised Ashrafi’s love for the land of the Two Holy Mosques and his services to Islam and Muslims.
Ashrafi Highlights Pakistan-Saudi Brotherhood
Ashrafi thanked Sheikh Al-Sudais for his message and prayers.
He said relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia go beyond normal diplomatic ties.
According to Ashrafi, the relationship rests on faith, shared beliefs and a lasting bond of brotherhood.
He said the defence agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye would further strengthen unity, cooperation and collective security across the Muslim world.
Strong Support for Saudi Arabia
Ashrafi said Pakistan and the wider Muslim community have deep love and respect for the land of the Two Holy Mosques.
He praised the services of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman toward the Two Holy Mosques.
He added that Muslims around the world value Saudi Arabia’s efforts to protect and serve the holy sites.

Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Holy Sites
Ashrafi said Pakistan’s leadership and people have repeatedly reaffirmed their commitment to the security and stability of the Two Holy Mosques.
He said Pakistan remains ready to support Saudi Arabia in protecting the holy sites.
He added that the new defence agreement has further strengthened Pakistan’s sense of responsibility toward Saudi Arabia and its people.
Al-Sudais Prays for Pakistan
Sheikh Al-Sudais conveyed his best wishes to Pakistan’s leadership, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the Pakistani people.
He prayed that Allah protect Pakistan, grant the country peace, stability and development, and safeguard it from all forms of harm and turmoil.
The conversation highlighted the close religious, fraternal and strategic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, while also underscoring the importance of cooperation among Muslim countries.
