NEW YORK: A five-member delegation of the Quaid-e-Azam Foundation USA, Houston, led by Dr. Asaf Qadeer and Tahir Raza Bhatti, met with Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, at the Pakistan Mission to the UN.
The meeting focused on exchanging ideas and discussing proposals to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah at the United Nations Headquarters.
The participants discussed ways to organize the commemoration in a manner that reflects the stature, vision and enduring legacy of the Founder of Pakistan.
Foundation Highlights Efforts to Preserve Jinnah’s Legacy
The delegation briefed Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad on the foundation’s efforts to preserve and promote the legacy, vision and ideals of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The delegation also highlighted the establishment of the Jinnah Library in Houston. The library houses an extensive collection of books and other literature covering Quaid-e-Azam, the Pakistan Movement and the history of Pakistan.

Focus on Pakistani-American Youth
Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad appreciated the foundation’s efforts to promote the teachings, message and legacy of Quaid-e-Azam.
He particularly praised its work among Pakistani-American youth. The ambassador said such initiatives can help younger generations reconnect with Jinnah’s ideals, political philosophy and vision.
He also emphasized the importance of fostering a deeper understanding of the values that shaped the Pakistan Movement.
Souvenirs Presented to Ambassador
During the meeting, Dr. Asaf Qadeer presented shawls and books to Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad as souvenirs.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to explore future cooperation for highlighting Quaid-e-Azam’s legacy at an international platform ahead of his 150th birth anniversary.
