Pakistan has stepped up preparations for the upcoming Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Council of Ministers meeting.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting on Friday to review arrangements for the event.
Pakistan will host the ECO Council of Ministers meeting on November 15 and 16, 2026.
Dar Reviews Programme and Logistics
Officials briefed Dar on several aspects of the meeting.
The briefing covered the proposed programme and agenda. It also included participation, logistics and other arrangements.
Dar reviewed the preparations in detail. He also issued guidance on key aspects of the upcoming ministerial meeting.
The meeting was attended by Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch and relevant officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Pakistan Highlights ECO’s Regional Role
Dar stressed Pakistan’s importance to the ECO and its regional objectives.

He said the organization has an important role in promoting regional trade, connectivity and economic cooperation.
Pakistan currently holds the ECO chairmanship for 2026–27. Dar also serves as chairman of the ECO Council of Ministers.
Therefore, Pakistan is seeking thorough preparations for the upcoming meeting.
Dar directed all concerned officials to ensure a productive and successful ministerial gathering in Pakistan.
The November meeting will bring ECO member states together to discuss regional economic cooperation and connectivity.
