Russia’s Defence Ministry has claimed that Russian forces captured two settlements in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region over the past 24 hours.
The ministry identified the settlements as Nefiodovka and Chornoye. However, these battlefield claims have not been independently verified.
According to the ministry, troops from the North group of forces are tightening their encirclement of Ukrainian units in Kharkiv and expanding areas under Russian control. Russian forces are also advancing towards several other settlements, including Nikolayevka and Varvarovka.
Russia Reports Ukrainian Military Casualties
The Russian Defence Ministry claimed that Ukrainian forces suffered approximately 1,105 casualties across several fronts during the past 24 hours. The figure may include both killed and wounded personnel, but the ministry did not provide a separate breakdown.
Moscow reported the following figures for its military operations:
- North group: More than 175 Ukrainian personnel.
- West group: Around 220 personnel.
- South group: Approximately 145 personnel.
- Centre group: Around 345 personnel.
- East group: More than 190 personnel.
- Dnieper group: Approximately 30 personnel.
These figures represent claims by Russia’s Defence Ministry. Independent verification remains unavailable, and the figures should not be treated as confirmed casualty counts.
Moscow Claims Gains in Donetsk Region
The ministry also reported advances by Russia’s Centre group of forces in Dobropillia, in the Donetsk region.
According to the statement, Russian troops took control of 31 buildings in the city. The ministry did not provide independently verified evidence for this claim.
Russia Reports Strikes on Ukrainian Military Infrastructure
Russia’s Defence Ministry said its air force, drone units, missile forces and artillery struck Ukrainian military targets across 145 locations.
The ministry said the targets included transport infrastructure used by Ukrainian forces, drone production workshops, drone storage facilities and temporary deployment sites for military personnel and foreign fighters.
However, the statement did not provide independently verified details about the extent of the damage or the impact of the reported strikes.
Moscow Claims Interception of Drones and Missiles
The Russian Defence Ministry also claimed that its air defence systems destroyed 342 Ukrainian drones and four long-range Flamingo cruise missiles during the 24-hour period.
The ministry did not release independently verified evidence supporting the reported interceptions.
The latest statement reflects Russia’s account of military operations along several fronts in Ukraine. Battlefield claims from either side require independent verification because fighting continues to limit access to affected areas.
