Pakistani provision K. P Issues SOPs for Events in Girls’ Colleges, Bans Music, Dance, and Social Media Sharing
Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Directorate of Higher Education has issued a set of standard operating procedures (SOPs) regulating the organization of events in girls’ colleges across the province.
According to an official notification sent to college principals, music, dance, modeling, and similar activities have been strictly prohibited within girls’ colleges.
The directive states that prior approval will be mandatory for organizing events such as welcome and farewell parties, sports galas, and cultural programs. Colleges will be required to obtain permission from the Director or Regional Director of Higher Education before holding any event and must also submit a list of invited guests in advance.
The notification further specifies that mobile phone use by students will be banned during college hours as well as during official events. Attendance at events will only be allowed in college uniform, which has been declared compulsory.
To ensure student safety and maintain a dignified academic environment, the SOPs call for strict security and monitoring arrangements. The sharing of event photos or videos on social media has also been prohibited.
According to the directive, all activities must be conducted in line with social and cultural values, and any violations will result in disciplinary action.
The Directorate of Higher Education has warned that strict punitive measures will be taken against colleges found violating the issued SOPs.
