LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central President and former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the martyrdom of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Group Captain Asim Tariq, while urging the government to recognize his sacrifice with a Gallantry Award.
According to a statement issued by PTI, Parvez Elahi spoke by telephone with the family of the martyred officer to express his heartfelt condolences and solidarity during their time of grief.
Demand for Swift Justice
During the conversation, Parvez Elahi emphasized that those responsible for the killing of Group Captain Asim Tariq must be brought to justice without delay.
He said the nation expects accountability for the attack and urged the authorities to ensure that the perpetrators face the full force of the law.
The former Punjab chief minister also appealed to the government to honor the fallen officer with a Gallantry Award in recognition of his courage, dedication and service to the nation.

Expressing profound sorrow over the loss, Parvez Elahi paid tribute to the martyred officer, describing his sacrifice as a source of pride for the entire country.
He said Group Captain Asim Tariq laid down his life while serving the nation and protecting humanity, adding that his courage and devotion would be remembered for generations.
According to Elahi, the officer’s bravery has earned respect and admiration both within Pakistan and internationally.
Tribute to Talagang’s Military Legacy
Parvez Elahi also highlighted the long-standing tradition of military service associated with Talagang, the hometown of the martyred officer.
He described the district as a land known for producing martyrs and decorated servicemen who have made significant sacrifices for Pakistan.
Recalling his tenure as Chief Minister of Punjab, Elahi noted that he had granted Talagang the status of a separate district, acknowledging the region’s historical contributions to the country’s armed forces.
Promise of Future Development
During his conversation with the bereaved family, Parvez Elahi said that if given the opportunity to serve again, he would continue the development projects initiated in Talagang during his previous tenure.
He expressed his commitment to resuming the district’s progress and supporting its people.
Prayers for the Martyr and Family
Concluding the call, Parvez Elahi prayed for the elevation of Group Captain Asim Tariq’s ranks in the hereafter and for strength and patience for his family as they cope with their loss.
