Egyptian Ambassador Highlights Strong Pakistan-Egypt Ties at National Day Reception in Islamabad

Islamabad: Egypt’s Ambassador to Pakistan reaffirmed the strong and longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Egypt during the National Day reception of the Arab Republic of Egypt held at the Islamabad Serena Hotel, highlighting the growing momentum in bilateral cooperation across political, economic, and strategic sectors.

The ceremony was attended by Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, members of the diplomatic corps, senior government officials, business leaders, and representatives of the Egyptian community in Pakistan.

Addressing the gathering, the Egyptian Ambassador welcomed the distinguished guests and expressed appreciation to the Government of Pakistan for joining the celebrations.

“It is an honour and a privilege to welcome you this evening as we celebrate the National Day of the Arab Republic of Egypt,” the Ambassador said, thanking the attendees for their presence on the occasion.

Reflecting on the significance of the 1952 Egyptian Revolution, the Ambassador described it as a defining moment in Egypt’s modern history, symbolizing the country’s aspirations for independence, social justice, dignity, and national development. He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous, and resilient nation based on international cooperation.

The Ambassador emphasized that Pakistan and Egypt enjoy a deep, longstanding, and multifaceted partnership founded on mutual respect, shared values, and historic bonds between their peoples.

He noted that bilateral relations have witnessed significant progress over the past two years, citing high-level diplomatic exchanges, including two visits by Egypt’s Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty to Pakistan and the visit of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar to Egypt.

According to the Ambassador, these high-level engagements have strengthened political dialogue while expanding cooperation in several strategic sectors, laying the groundwork for a stronger and more dynamic partnership.

Speaking at the event, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan said Pakistan highly values its relations with Egypt, adding that bilateral ties continue to move in a positive direction with growing cooperation in various fields.

The Ambassador also stressed that at a time of increasing regional and global challenges, both Pakistan and Egypt firmly believe in dialogue, diplomacy, and adherence to international law as essential tools for achieving lasting peace and sustainable development.

He expressed Egypt’s desire to transform the current positive political momentum into tangible outcomes through enhanced economic cooperation, increased bilateral trade, investment opportunities, and stronger people-to-people exchanges.

Concluding his remarks, the Ambassador said he had personally experienced the warmth and hospitality of the Pakistani people since assuming his diplomatic assignment, describing it as a true reflection of the enduring friendship between the two countries.

The National Day reception concluded with both sides expressing optimism about further strengthening bilateral cooperation in diplomacy, trade, investment, education, and cultural exchanges.
