Iranian Interior Minister Meets Field Marshal Asim Munir at GHQ, Pakistan and Iran Reaffirm Security Cooperation

RAWALPINDI: Visiting Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni held an important meeting with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where the two sides discussed bilateral security cooperation, regional developments and effective border management.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on issues of mutual interest, regional and bilateral security, and measures to strengthen cooperation for effective border management between the neighboring countries.

The Iranian interior minister praised Pakistan’s consistent diplomatic efforts to reduce regional tensions and acknowledged Islamabad’s constructive role in promoting dialogue and stability across the region.

Momeni described Pakistan as an important pillar of regional peace and stability, highlighting the country’s significant diplomatic contribution toward easing tensions in the broader region.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination and continued cooperation to address shared security challenges and strengthen regional peace.

Pakistan and Iran also agreed to further enhance bilateral cooperation aimed at promoting mutual prosperity, effective border coordination and long-term regional stability.
