DOHA, — Pakistan and Qatar have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in security and internal security matters following a high-level meeting between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Qatar’s Interior Minister and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
During the meeting, the two ministers held detailed discussions on expanding security collaboration, enhancing institutional partnerships, and strengthening cooperation between the interior ministries of both countries.
The leaders also exchanged views on the regional security environment, emphasizing the importance of closer coordination to promote peace, stability, and effective internal security cooperation.
Mohsin Naqvi reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to broadening cooperation with Qatar in security and other areas of mutual interest, describing the relationship between the two countries as one of growing strategic importance.
During the meeting, the Pakistani interior minister also conveyed his heartfelt condolences over the passing of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the former Amir of Qatar. He paid tribute to the late leader’s contributions to Qatar’s development and progress.

For his part, Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani reiterated that Qatar places great importance on its relationship with Pakistan and expressed his country’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.
The meeting reflects the continued efforts by both nations to enhance strategic ties, particularly in security, regional stability, and institutional collaboration.
