RIYADH, — Saudi Arabia has introduced a new digital card service for individuals who embrace Islam, allowing converts to obtain an officially recognized digital certificate through a fully automated online process.
The initiative, launched by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, is designed to simplify every stage of the conversion process, from application submission to final approval, using computers and mobile devices.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the new system digitizes the entire procedure, making it faster, more secure, and easier for applicants.
Integrated with Tawakkalna
Once an application is approved, the digital convert card is automatically linked to the user’s account on Saudi Arabia’s Tawakkalna app, enabling instant access and verification.
The card also features a QR code that allows government agencies and other authorized entities to verify its authenticity.

Saudi authorities said the service has been developed in cooperation with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) to ensure secure digital verification and protect the integrity of official records.
Supporting Better Services and Planning
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs said the initiative will help improve record management while providing accurate statistics and reports to support future planning and policymaking.
Officials added that the digital card will provide new Muslims with an officially recognized document that facilitates access to government services and confirms their legal status.

The new service is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader digital transformation strategy aimed at enhancing services for Muslims worldwide.
In recent years, the Kingdom has introduced several digital platforms, including the Nusuk platform, which offers services such as Umrah visa applications, Rawdah appointments, accommodation bookings, travel arrangements, and multilingual guidance.
Saudi Arabia has also expanded the Pilgrim Experience Program, modernized Hajj and Umrah services, introduced the Makkah Route Initiative, and recently launched a multiple-entry Umrah visa valid for one year, allowing eligible pilgrims to visit the Kingdom several times within the visa’s validity period.
The newly introduced digital convert card is expected to further improve accessibility, identity verification, and service delivery for individuals embracing Islam in Saudi Arabia.
