ISLAMABAD, Pakistan has strongly condemned the recent remarks made by India’s Defence Minister regarding the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, describing the comments as highly provocative, irresponsible, and a threat to regional peace and security.
In an official statement, the Government of Pakistan said the Indian minister’s remarks distort internationally recognized facts concerning the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, which remains on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
The statement asserted that the comments reflect what Pakistan described as India’s deliberate policy of undermining regional and international peace and security.
According to the Foreign Office, the remarks are intended to divert international attention from India’s continued administration of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), as well as allegations regarding regional terrorism and India’s internal challenges.
Pakistan further stated that India’s rhetoric of aggression should not be viewed as a substitute for dialogue and warned against what it termed any future adventurism.

The statement added that Pakistan remains fully committed to safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity, while referring to the country’s response during Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos last year as an example of its resolve.
Pakistan also called on the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take notice of India’s conduct and to ensure implementation of the relevant UN Security Council resolutions, which, according to Pakistan, guarantee the right to self-determination for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The statement reaffirmed Pakistan’s longstanding position that the Kashmir dispute should be resolved in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
