WASHINGTON, US President Donald Trump has announced that his Board of Peace has reached an agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups in the Gaza Strip, describing the development as a major step toward ending the conflict and establishing a new Palestinian administration.
According to Trump, the agreement was reached on Thursday through negotiations involving representatives of Hamas, the Board of Peace, and mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye.
Trump Calls Agreement a Historic Breakthrough
In a statement published on Truth Social, Trump said the agreement represents a significant milestone in implementing what he described as the Trump 20-Point Plan.
He said the process would be carried out in carefully structured phases, under which armed groups in Gaza would gradually disarm.
“As disarmament is completed, Israeli forces will withdraw, and the International Stabilization Force will work alongside a new Palestinian police force to ensure Gaza’s security for both its residents and neighboring countries,” Trump stated.

He added that the arrangement is intended to pave the way for a new Palestinian government that would govern Gaza in cooperation with the Board of Peace.
Israel Says Proposal Falls Short
Despite Trump’s announcement, Israel has indicated that important differences remain.
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the reported 15-point disarmament proposal does not satisfy Israel’s long-standing demand for the complete demilitarization of Gaza.

Israeli officials stated that the proposal, in its current form, does not fully address the country’s security requirements, leaving uncertainty over whether the agreement can move forward.
Mediators Recognized
Trump thanked Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye for their mediation efforts and praised his negotiating team for achieving what he called a “historic breakthrough.”
He also stressed that the October 7 attacks must never be repeated.
“The threat that emerged from Gaza on October 7 will not be allowed to rebuild,” Trump said, adding that the agreement aims to ensure Gaza is governed by an administration focused on serving its people rather than supporting armed conflict.
Uncertain Path Ahead
While the announcement marks a potentially significant diplomatic development, the differing positions between Washington and Jerusalem suggest that additional negotiations may be required before any implementation begins.
The agreement’s future will likely depend on whether Israeli security concerns can be reconciled with the proposed phased disarmament framework.
