RAWALPINDI, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reaffirmed that the friendship between Pakistan and China remains time-tested and has consistently withstood every regional and global challenge, describing the bilateral relationship as a cornerstone of strategic cooperation.



According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a ceremony marking the 99th anniversary of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China was held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
The event was attended by Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong as the chief guest. Also present were Chinese Defence Attaché Major General Wang Zhong, officials from the Chinese Embassy, and senior officers from Pakistan’s Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Tribute to the People’s Liberation Army
Addressing the gathering, Field Marshal Asim Munir congratulated the People’s Liberation Army on its 99th founding anniversary and paid tribute to its contributions to China’s national defence, economic development, and global peace and security.
He emphasized that Pakistan-China relations have remained resilient despite evolving regional and international challenges, adding that the strategic partnership between the two countries continues to grow stronger.
“The friendship between Pakistan and China is time-tested and has always stood firm through every challenge,” the Field Marshal said.
China Appreciates Pakistan’s Counterterrorism Efforts
According to the ISPR, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong thanked Field Marshal Asim Munir for hosting the commemorative event and reaffirmed China’s commitment to further strengthening its comprehensive strategic partnership with Pakistan.
The ambassador also praised the professionalism, sacrifices, and contributions of Pakistan’s Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism, reaffirming Beijing’s continued support for Islamabad.
Both sides reiterated their shared commitment to expanding defence cooperation, strategic coordination, and bilateral collaboration across various sectors.
