MAKKAH, — Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by senior members of the Pakistani delegation, performed Umrah in the holy city of Makkah during his official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and other senior officials.
Special Prayers for Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah
During the Umrah pilgrimage, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the delegation offered special prayers for Pakistan’s peace, stability, prosperity, and economic progress, as well as for the unity and well-being of the Muslim Ummah.
The delegation also prayed for lasting peace, regional stability, and harmony across the Islamic world.
Official Visit to Saudi Arabia
The Umrah was performed as part of the Prime Minister’s official visit to Saudi Arabia, undertaken at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
The visit includes high-level meetings focused on strengthening Pakistan-Saudi Arabia bilateral relations, expanding economic and strategic cooperation, and discussing regional and international developments.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is also expected to hold a formal meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to review ongoing cooperation and explore new avenues for collaboration between the two brotherly countries.
