BAGHDAD — US forces will completely withdraw from Iraq’s Kurdistan region by September 30, the Iraqi government said.
The US military bases in the Kurdistan region will then transfer to Iraqi security forces, according to the Iraqi government.
US Withdrawal to Continue
The planned withdrawal forms part of an agreement between Iraq and the United States.
The two countries agreed in 2024 to gradually transition and eventually end the US-led military mission in Iraq.
