Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir will visit Tehran on Sunday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said.
Baghaei said the visit will support Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and security in the region.
He added that the visit will also help strengthen relations between Pakistan and Iran.
Asim Munir to Meet Iranian Officials
According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Field Marshal Asim Munir will meet senior Iranian officials during his visit.
The talks are expected to cover regional security and bilateral relations.
Pakistan and Iran share a long border and maintain close diplomatic and security contacts. Both countries have also continued efforts to expand cooperation in several areas.
Pakistan Working for Regional Peace
Baghaei said Pakistan is continuing diplomatic efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
He also said Pakistan is playing a role in efforts to end the ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States.
