Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, has stressed Iran’s role in managing security around the Strait of Hormuz during a meeting with Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir.
Rezaei and Munir met in Tehran as Pakistan continues diplomatic efforts to promote regional peace and stability.
Rezaei Calls for US Action
Rezaei, who also serves as the Leader’s representative, criticized what he described as repeated US violations of its commitments.
He said Washington must change its approach and take practical steps to meet its obligations under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
Rezaei emphasized that fulfilling the agreement requires concrete action rather than further promises.

During the meeting, Munir highlighted Pakistan’s efforts that helped lead to the signing of the memorandum.
He also stressed the strong bonds of friendship and brotherhood between Iran and Pakistan.
