ISLAMABAD, Pakistan and the Philippines have discussed ways to strengthen tourism cooperation, cultural exchanges and people-to-people contacts between the two countries.
The discussions took place during a meeting between Al-Sadat Group Chairman Sadat Hussain Shah and Philippine Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez at the Philippine Embassy.
Focus on Tourism Cooperation
During the meeting, Sadat Hussain Shah stressed the need to expand tourism links between Pakistan and the Philippines.
He said both countries could promote mutual tourism by highlighting their rich cultural heritage, natural landscapes and diverse tourism opportunities.
The two sides also discussed ways to create greater awareness of tourism destinations in both countries.
Private Sector Can Support Bilateral Ties
Sadat Hussain Shah said the private sector could play an important role in strengthening tourism and people-to-people relations.
He expressed his willingness to support initiatives that could increase tourism cooperation between Pakistan and the Philippines.
