ISLAMABAD: The Association of Pakistani Graduates from Russia and CIS has expressed deep grief over the loss of 14 lives in a fire at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad.
Chairman Dr Shahid Hassan and President Professor Dr Ashraf Nizami expressed their sorrow over the tragic incident.
In a statement, the association’s office-bearers offered condolences to the families of the children who lost their lives.
Condolences to Victims’ Families
The association expressed solidarity with the bereaved families during this difficult time.
Its representatives prayed that Allah Almighty grants the families patience and strength to bear the loss.
They also prayed for the departed souls and expressed their deep sympathy with those affected by the tragedy.
Call for Impartial Investigation
The association also called on the authorities to conduct an impartial investigation into the incident.
Dr Shahid Hassan and Professor Dr Ashraf Nizami urged the relevant authorities to determine the circumstances that led to the fire.
They stressed the need for appropriate measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
Demand for Stronger Safety Measures
The association said authorities must ensure that such incidents do not happen again.
It called for effective safety measures at public health facilities, particularly those serving vulnerable patients.
The association’s leadership stressed that lessons from the tragedy should lead to practical steps to improve safety and protect lives.
