Pakistan’s security forces have foiled an alleged attempt by militants to enter the country from the Afghan border, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military’s media wing said security forces successfully targeted the militants during the operation.
ISPR said 15 militants linked to Fitna al-Khawarij were killed near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
Pakistan’s military also described the militants as being backed by India.
Weapons and Ammunition Recovered
According to ISPR, security forces recovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition from the militants.
The military said a clearance operation was underway in the area to eliminate any remaining militants and secure the border.
The operation followed an alleged attempt to cross into Pakistan and carry out attacks that could threaten peace and stability.
Pakistan Blames Afghan Taliban Government
ISPR accused the Afghan Taliban government of failing to prevent the militant organization from using Afghan territory.

The military said the Afghan authorities had also failed to ensure effective border management and meet their international obligations.
Pakistan has repeatedly raised concerns about militant groups operating from Afghanistan.
Islamabad has called on Kabul to prevent its territory from being used for attacks against Pakistan.
Security Forces Vow to Defend Border
ISPR said Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to defending the country’s borders.
The military said its counterterrorism campaign would continue against terrorism supported by foreign actors.
It also said security forces would take action against militants seeking to undermine peace and stability in Pakistan.
The latest operation highlights continued security tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and Islamabad’s concerns over cross-border militant activity.
