WASHINGTON, — The White House has launched a 24-hour digital streaming channel called “TRUMP TV: The Essentials Station” amid a growing dispute with major US news organisations.
The channel went live on September 21 through the White House’s official YouTube channel. It is also available on the White House website.
Trump TV to Run Around the Clock
The White House says Trump TV will provide presidential speeches, major announcements and selected videos from the administration.
The stream will operate around the clock and receive real-time updates. It will also feature highlights and previously recorded footage from Trump’s presidency.
According to the White House, the channel will bring major administration events and videos together in one place.
The initial broadcast included footage from Trump’s July 3 speech at Mount Rushmore. It also featured video from his 2025 inauguration.
Launch Follows Media Access Dispute
The new channel comes after several major US television networks suspended shared coverage of Trump’s White House events.
ABC, CBS, Fox News, NBC and CNN form the traditional television pool that shares footage of presidential events with broadcasters. The networks halted the shared coverage after the White House barred CNN, MS NOW and Politico from its grounds.
The three affected organisations have filed a federal lawsuit against the Trump administration. They argue that the restrictions violate constitutional protections for freedom of the press.
White House Offers Direct Video Feed
Meanwhile, Trump TV gives the administration a direct platform to distribute its own video content.
The White House has promoted the service as a source for major presidential remarks, administration announcements and other selected material. However, the channel is an official government platform rather than an independent news organisation.
The launch adds another element to the ongoing dispute between the Trump administration and parts of the US media.
