TEHRAN: Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian has called for accelerating bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Iran in the fields of trade, economy, security, and regional cooperation, saying the current level of engagement does not fully reflect the vast potential shared by the two neighboring countries.
The remarks came as President Pezeshkian received the credentials of Pakistan’s newly appointed Ambassador to Iran, Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, in Tehran.
Pakistan-Iran Relations Built on Deep Historical Bonds
President Pezeshkian emphasized that Pakistan-Iran relations extend far beyond ordinary neighborly ties, describing them as being rooted in shared history, culture, religion, and longstanding brotherhood.
He reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Pakistan, describing Pakistan as a trusted partner, a brotherly nation, and a second home for all Iranians.
Expressing optimism about the future, the Iranian President said he expects bilateral relations to grow even stronger in the coming years.

President Pezeshkian commended Pakistan’s leadership for its constructive role in promoting regional peace, particularly appreciating the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in encouraging dialogue between Iran and the United States.
He said Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives demonstrate a genuine commitment to regional peace and stability and added that both the Iranian government and people highly value the continued consultations between Tehran and Islamabad.
The Iranian President also conveyed his best wishes to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi.
