JERUSALEM, Israeli forces detained at least 48 Palestinians during a series of military raids across the northern occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian media, as Israel intensified security operations following orders for expanded military action in the territory.

Palestine’s official radio reported that Israeli troops arrested more than 40 Palestinian youths during an ongoing raid in the town of Tal, west of Nablus.

According to the report, Israeli soldiers took control of a residential building in the town and converted it into a temporary field interrogation center while conducting searches and detaining residents.

Witnesses cited by Palestinian media said Israeli forces surrounded the town from multiple directions before launching extensive house-to-house raids.

The latest operation comes a day after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered an expanded military campaign in Palestinian villages across the occupied West Bank following a deadly confrontation in the area.

The West Bank has witnessed a sharp increase in Israeli military operations, settler violence, and Palestinian arrests in recent months, contributing to heightened tensions across the occupied territory.

Israeli authorities have not immediately released an official statement regarding the latest arrests or the objectives of the operation.
