ISLAMABAD, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi, during which both sides discussed the evolving regional situation and emphasized the importance of diplomacy in maintaining international peace and stability.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the two leaders underscored the need to continue dialogue and diplomatic engagement as the most effective path toward resolving regional and global challenges.
Both sides agreed that sustained and constructive communication among relevant stakeholders remains essential for promoting peace, stability, and confidence-building at both the regional and international levels.
During the conversation, Grossi expressed hope that, following the Memorandum of Understanding signed in Islamabad, the concerned parties would continue negotiations and maintain channels of communication to achieve a peaceful and lasting resolution through dialogue.
The Foreign Office also said that Grossi informed Ishaq Dar of his candidacy for the position of United Nations Secretary-General, as the race to succeed António Guterres gathers momentum.

In response, Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong support for the United Nations and an effective multilateral system capable of addressing global challenges through cooperation and diplomacy.
The telephone conversation comes amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing international efforts to encourage dialogue and prevent further escalation in the Middle East and beyond.
