LAHORE, Professor Dr. Nadia Naseem has assumed the additional charge of Vice Chancellor of the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, following the completion of the tenure of outgoing Vice Chancellor Professor Ahsan Waheed Rathore.
Her appointment was made under a notification issued by the Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education (SHC&ME) Department on July 21, 2026.
A distinguished academic, researcher, and medical education expert, Dr. Nadia Naseem currently serves as Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Morbid Anatomy and Histopathology at UHS.
She brings extensive administrative experience to the role, having previously completed a three-year term as Pro Vice Chancellor of the university. During her long association with UHS, she has also held key administrative positions, including Controller of Examinations and Registrar, providing her with comprehensive experience in academic, examination, and institutional management.
Dr. Nadia Naseem graduated from Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore, and completed her postgraduate studies at UHS, earning both MPhil and PhD degrees in Histopathology.
Recognized as an accomplished researcher, she has authored more than 120 research publications in national and international journals. Her contributions to medical education and scientific research have earned her several national and international research grants, fellowships, and academic awards.
She has been appointed as the acting Vice Chancellor following the completion of Professor Ahsan Waheed Rathore’s four-year tenure, and will oversee the university’s affairs until a regular appointment is made.
