TASHKENT / MAKKAH، Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Council of Muslim Scholars, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, delivered the keynote address via video link at the opening ceremony of the 1st International Islamic Forum held in Tashkent under the patronage of the President of Uzbekistan. The forum was themed “Islamic Civilization: Path to Peace, Tolerance, and Enlightenment.”
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Al-Issa praised Uzbekistan as a bastion of Islamic scholarship and the homeland of legendary scholars like Imam Bukhari and Imam Tirmidhi, whose immortal contributions shaped the golden era of Islamic intellectual heritage. He emphasized that Islamic civilization is not merely a memory preserved in history books, but a living testament to what happens when faith aligns with knowledge.
Dr. Al-Issa stressed that honoring this legacy requires more than pride in the past—it demands reviving its spirit through contemporary knowledge and righteous action. He commended the inauguration of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent and the expansion of the Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex in Samarkand, highlighting their crucial role in serving Islamic history, research, and global scholarly revival.
