ISLAMABAD, The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Islamabad celebrated the 27th anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s accession to the Throne, highlighting the Kingdom’s remarkable socio-economic transformation while reaffirming the longstanding friendship and strategic partnership between Morocco and Pakistan.
The ceremony brought together diplomats, government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and distinguished guests to commemorate one of Morocco’s most significant national occasions.
Addressing the gathering, Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik emphasized that Pakistan highly values its cordial relations with Morocco and expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation would continue to expand in the years ahead.
He noted that Pakistan remains committed to strengthening collaboration with Morocco across political, economic, and cultural sectors.
Speaking on the occasion, Moroccan Ambassador Mohamed Karmoune outlined the Kingdom’s progress during the 27 years of King Mohammed VI’s reign.

He said Morocco has strengthened its democratic institutions, tripled its gross domestic product (GDP), and significantly expanded social protection programs, improving access to healthcare and essential public services.
“The security and stability enjoyed by Morocco, together with the efficiency of state institutions, have enabled significant economic development,” Ambassador Karmoune stated.
The ambassador highlighted Morocco’s growing role as a regional center for industry, investment, and tourism.
He noted that the Kingdom has become Africa’s largest automobile exporter, producing nearly one million vehicles annually, while the aviation and renewable energy sectors continue to witness sustained growth.

Morocco also welcomed a record 20 million tourists in 2025, including members of the Moroccan diaspora, reflecting the country’s expanding global appeal.
“These accomplishments are the result of clear strategic direction and forward-looking policies,” Ambassador Karmoune said.
Celebrating More Than Seven Decades of Friendship
The ambassador also paid tribute to the 72-year diplomatic relationship between Morocco and Pakistan, describing it as a partnership built on mutual respect, trust, and shared values.
He highlighted the regular political consultations, high-level exchanges, and close coordination between the two countries in regional and international forums.
“We strongly believe that by working together, we can achieve our shared development goals and elevate Morocco-Pakistan relations to even greater heights,” he added.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment by both countries to further strengthen cooperation in diplomacy, trade, investment, education, and cultural exchange.
