JEDDAH, — Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are expected to sign a trilateral defense cooperation agreement during a high-level summit in Saudi Arabia on Friday, marking a significant step toward expanding strategic and security collaboration among the three countries.
The summit will bring together Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Jeddah on Thursday accompanied by a senior delegation, including Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces.
Focus on Security and Strategic Cooperation
According to reports, the leaders are expected to discuss strengthening diplomatic relations, regional security, defense cooperation, and broader strategic partnerships.
The proposed trilateral defense agreement follows months of negotiations and is expected to build upon existing bilateral military cooperation between the three countries.
