Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong met Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday.
The meeting focused on Pakistan-China relations, regional developments and other matters of mutual interest, according to Pakistan’s Foreign Office.
Pakistan Offers Support After Climber’s Death
During the meeting, Ishaq Dar expressed condolences over the death of a Chinese climber in an avalanche on Broad Peak in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The deputy prime minister offered his sympathies to the Chinese government and people.
He also assured the Chinese ambassador that Pakistan would provide full assistance in returning the climber’s remains to China.

He thanked Pakistani authorities for their cooperation and support after the tragic accident.

The Chinese ambassador also congratulated Pakistan’s leadership and people on the country’s Independence Day.
Jiang Zaidong reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthen the close and time-tested relations between Pakistan and China.
The meeting highlighted the continued importance of bilateral cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
