Punjab Police Announces Dolphin Force Restructuring and Updates on Major Cases

LAHORE: Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Karim has said that the police will uphold the rule of law and ensure transparent accountability.

He said no one would be considered above the law.

The Punjab police chief also announced plans to restructure the Dolphin Force. Under the new plan, local station house officers (SHOs) will oversee the force’s operations.

Update on Town Ship Deaths

Speaking at a press conference at the Central Police Office, Abdul Karim shared updates on several major cases.

CCPO Lahore and DIG Investigation Lahore also attended the briefing.

The IGP said police had completed the investigation into the deaths of two women in Lahore’s Township area.

According to the investigation, both women died after using drugs.

Progress in Hina Javed Murder Case

Abdul Karim also provided an update on the murder case of Hina Javed in Rawalpindi.

He said three suspects had been named in the first information report (FIR).

Police have arrested two of the suspects so far.

The IGP said investigators were handling the case on merit. He added that all those responsible would be brought before the law.

Investigation Into Abdullah Tahir Murder

The Punjab police chief also discussed the murder case of Abdullah Tahir.

He said police were continuing efforts to arrest the alleged shooters.

According to Abdul Karim, the suspects fled to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after the incident.

Police do not yet have confirmed information about their current whereabouts.

However, investigators are continuing their efforts to locate and arrest the suspects through legal and investigative measures.

Dolphin Force to Receive Modern Equipment

Abdul Karim said the Punjab Police was restructuring the Dolphin Force to improve its performance.

The department is also working to acquire modern electric bikes for the force.

Meanwhile, the Murree Police have received new motorcycles for patrol duties and more effective policing.

The IGP said the police would continue to improve operational capacity while ensuring accountability and respect for the law.
