Pakistan’s security forces have killed 12 militants during an intelligence-based operation in Qalat district of Balochistan, the military said.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces launched the operation after receiving information about the presence of militants linked to what Pakistan calls “Fitna al-Hindustan.”
The operation targeted a suspected militant hideout in the district.
Security Forces Target Militant Hideout
ISPR said security personnel first identified and monitored the suspected hideout.
The forces then launched a timely operation and killed 12 militants, according to the military’s statement.
Security personnel also recovered weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from the site.
The forces destroyed the recovered weapons and explosives at the location, ISPR said.
Clearance Operation Conducted
Following the operation, security forces also carried out a clearance operation in the surrounding area.
ISPR said the clearance effort aimed to eliminate militants allegedly operating with Indian support.
The military did not provide further details about the identities of those killed or the exact nature of the weapons recovered.
Pakistan Vows to Continue Counterterrorism Operations
ISPR said security forces will continue indiscriminate operations against terrorism under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam.
The military said these operations will continue until Pakistan eliminates the threat of terrorism from the country.
The latest operation comes as Pakistani security forces continue counterterrorism efforts in Balochistan and other parts of the country.
