PESHAWAR — Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar on Tuesday.
During the visit, he received a briefing on the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was also briefed on ongoing counterterrorism operations, border management measures and the operational readiness of formations in the province.
Munir Praises Troops’ Readiness
Field Marshal Munir praised the high morale, readiness and professionalism of officers and troops.
He also acknowledged their efforts to protect the country and its people. In addition, he stressed the need for continued vigilance across the formations.
The army chief directed the formations to maintain the highest standards of operational preparedness. He said the armed forces remain committed to defeating terrorism and achieving lasting peace and stability with the support of the nation.
Tribute to Fallen Soldiers
During the visit, Munir also went to Yadgar-e-Shuhada at Corps Headquarters Peshawar.
He laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha in memory of soldiers who died while defending the country and fighting terrorism.
He paid tribute to their sacrifices and said they would never be forgotten.
The Commander Peshawar Corps received Field Marshal Munir upon his arrival at the headquarters.
