A colorful cultural evening marking Russia’s National Day was held at the Alhamra Cultural Complex in Lahore, showcasing the growing cultural and diplomatic relationship between Pakistan and Russia.
The event was organized by the Russian Centre for Science, Education and Culture Lahore in collaboration with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Pakistan. Diplomats, academics, students, cultural figures and members of civil society attended the celebration in large numbers.

Russian and Pakistani Artists Captivate Audience
The evening featured performances by internationally recognized Russian artists who presented traditional Russian folk music and cultural dances. Their performances received enthusiastic applause from the audience and provided a glimpse into Russia’s rich cultural heritage.
Pakistani artists also took part in the event, presenting regional folk dances and classical Kathak performances that added a unique local flavor to the celebration.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Shahid Hassan said that the growing diplomatic and cultural engagement between Pakistan and Russia is opening new avenues of cooperation.
He emphasized that cultural events of this nature help promote friendship, trust and mutual respect between the peoples of both countries.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ashraf Nizami stated that both Pakistan and Russia take pride in their rich cultural heritage and shared values.
He said these common values serve as an important bridge for enhancing relations and encouraging greater interaction between the two societies.
Traditional Performances Mark Grand Finale
The event concluded with a spectacular performance by a Russian cultural troupe showcasing traditional folk arts and music.
Renowned Pakistani Kathak dancer Asfandyar Khattak also delivered a captivating performance that earned widespread appreciation from attendees.
Participants described the evening as a powerful symbol of friendship, cultural harmony and mutual respect between Pakistan and Russia.
