WASHINGTON/AMMAN: The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed that two American service members were killed, four others were injured, and one remains missing following Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting military facilities in Jordan.
According to an official statement issued by CENTCOM, the casualties occurred as US and coalition forces were engaged in defending against incoming Iranian ballistic missiles and drones during the latest escalation in regional hostilities.
CENTCOM said search and rescue operations are currently underway to locate the missing service member. For operational security reasons, the identities of the deceased, the injured personnel, and the missing soldier have not yet been released.
