Islamabad – Pakistan has strongly condemned the Houthi militia’s threats against Saudi Arabia and commercial shipping in the Red Sea, reaffirming its unwavering support for the Kingdom’s security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

In a statement, the Foreign Office spokesperson said that threats directed at Saudi Arabia and commercial maritime traffic are unacceptable and pose a serious risk to regional stability and global trade.

The spokesperson emphasized that any threat to Pakistani-flagged vessels would be regarded as a threat to Pakistan’s national security, adding that Islamabad reserves the right to take all necessary and lawful measures to safeguard its maritime interests.

Pakistan also called for ensuring the security and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, stressing the importance of uninterrupted international maritime trade.

The Foreign Office urged all parties to respect international law, exercise restraint, and work toward reducing regional tensions through dialogue and peaceful means.

The statement comes amid heightened security concerns in the Red Sea following recent threats by Yemen’s Houthi movement targeting vessels heading to Saudi Arabian ports.
