WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, declaring that any attack on vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz would trigger direct American strikes against Iranian infrastructure.
Speaking in a recent statement, Trump said that if Iran targets any ship in the strategic waterway, the United States will respond by striking Iranian bridges and power plants.
He emphasized that the form of the attack would not matter, adding that any assault carried out using missiles, rockets, drones, or any other weapon would be met with a powerful retaliatory response.
According to Trump, every attack on commercial or military shipping in the Strait of Hormuz would result in the destruction of an Iranian bridge or power facility. He reiterated that the United States remains committed to protecting freedom of navigation and maintaining the security of one of the world’s most critical maritime trade routes.
The latest warning comes amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran, with growing concerns over regional security and the safety of international shipping through the Gulf.
