Washington, D.C. – More than 500 American military personnel have been wounded during the ongoing conflict with Iran, according to a US official who spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
The official revealed that the actual number of injured troops has exceeded 500, surpassing the Pentagon’s latest publicly available figures. The Defense Casualty Analysis System (DCAS) currently lists 482 wounded service members.
According to the official, the discrepancy is due to a reporting delay within the Pentagon’s casualty tracking system. The lag, the official explained, is a result of the system’s design and administrative process rather than any deliberate effort to withhold casualty information.
