CHOLPON-ATA, Kyrgyzstan: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held talks with Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhenkov on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting, reaffirming both countries’ commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation and promoting regional peace.
According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two ministers reviewed the current state of Pakistan-Belarus relations and discussed ways to further strengthen collaboration across a range of sectors.
The ministers welcomed the upcoming 9th Session of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission, scheduled to be held in Islamabad from August 11 to 12, describing it as an important platform for advancing economic and strategic cooperation.
Both sides also agreed to maintain regular high-level exchanges to further deepen diplomatic engagement.
Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, defense, agriculture, technology, and workforce development, while reaffirming their commitment to implementing the existing roadmap for comprehensive bilateral cooperation.

The two foreign ministers also exchanged views on regional developments and other issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhenkov commended Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to encourage dialogue during recent tensions involving the United States and Iran, and appreciated Islamabad’s role in promoting regional peace, stability, and security.
The meeting underscored the growing partnership between Pakistan and Belarus as both countries seek to expand economic cooperation and strengthen political engagement through regional and bilateral frameworks.
