TEHRAN, Iran’s military has warned the United States that any renewed military strikes against the Islamic Republic could significantly widen the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, raising fears of a broader regional confrontation.
According to international media reports, Iranian military spokesperson Mohammad Akraminia said in an interview with Iranian state television that if Washington resumes airstrikes against Iran in support of Israel or insists on continuing military operations, the consequences would extend well beyond the current battlefield.
“Iran’s position is clear,” Akraminia said, warning that another round of US military action would not remain confined to a limited area but could expand the geographical scope of the conflict across the region.
The Iranian military spokesman also urged the United States not to allow Israeli policies to dictate its decisions, saying such a course would only deepen regional instability and increase tensions throughout the Middle East.
The warning comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu prepares for a visit to Washington, where he is expected to hold talks with US President Donald Trump.
